History of Gold's Gym
Gold's Gym has been recognized as the home of the serious workout since 1965 when the doors opened at the original location in Venice, California. Bodybuilders training outside on Muscle Beach were attracted to the intense, no frills atmosphere of what came to be known as the "Mecca of Bodybuilding."
The "gold rush" reached a worldwide audience in 1975 when Gold's Gym received international attention as the focus of the movie "Pumping Iron" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. People from all over the world came to Venice to weight train or to marvel at the larger-than-life members.
From the success of that location, Gold's Gym has become the largest and most famous fitness franchise in the world with more than 550 facilities in 25 countries.
As the Gold's Gym network continues to grow, so does the demand for its products. Millions of people own apparel, fitness accessories, home equipment, and other items exclusive to the most recognized brand in the industry.
Today, the Gold's clientele has expanded to include amateur and professional athletes, some of Hollywood's most famous celebrities, and more than two million fitness enthusiasts worldwide who share the common goal of improving their quality life.
